The intensive workshop AI for Fashion Creativity was designed as a 10-hour experimental laboratory aimed at exploring the role of generative artificial intelligence within fashion design processes. Conceived for approximately 15 participants, the workshop addressed professionals and creatives interested in understanding how AI can support ideation, visual prototyping, and communication strategies in the fashion sector.
The initiative proposed an interdisciplinary and practice-oriented approach to generative AI, positioning it as an augmented design partner. Participants were guided through the use of text-to-image systems and hybrid digital workflows to construct product concepts, visual identities, and communication materials. Particular attention was devoted to prompt design as a methodological tool capable of translating conceptual intentions into controlled visual outputs.
The workshop aimed to critically frame AI technologies within contemporary creative practices, encouraging participants to reflect on issues of authorship, ethics, and the evolving role of the designer in algorithmically mediated environments.

The workshop pursued three main objectives:

  • to introduce generative AI tools as strategic resources for concept development and visual prototyping in fashion design;
  • to develop participants’ skills in prompt design, enabling structured and intentional interaction with generative systems;
  • to foster critical awareness regarding the ethical, authorship-related, and methodological implications of AI integration in creative workflows.

The workshop unfolded over two main phases, corresponding to two half-day sessions.

The first phase focused on conceptual development. Following a theoretical introduction addressing AI in creative processes, current applications in fashion and design, and key ethical considerations, participants worked on defining a product concept. Through generative tools, they constructed moodboards and experimented with prompt structures, exploring how linguistic precision influences visual outcomes. This phase culminated in the development of a coherent product identity and a comparative analysis of generated visual variants.
The second phase shifted from concept generation to contextualization and communication. Participants developed ambient renderings, narrative scenes, and contextual visualizations aligned with their product concepts. Hybrid workflows integrating AI tools with visualization software were introduced. The final session focused on generating communication assets—advertising campaigns, exhibition stands, and presentation materials—leading to the creation of a concise visual pitch presented and discussed collectively.
Overall, the workshop positioned generative AI as a catalyst for creative expansion rather than automation. By combining experimentation, technical training, and critical reflection, the initiative supported professionals in navigating emerging technological ecosystems while reinforcing intentionality, authorship, and design responsibility within contemporary fashion practice.
