RHITA Kick Mid-Term at Department of Design, Bovisa Campus, Politecnico di Milano

31.01.2025 • The mid-term meeting, coordinated by RU Polimi, represented a key opportunity to assess the progress made during the first year of the project and to discuss the next steps required to achieve the planned objectives. First workshop: Unveiling“Shaping Fashion Made in Italy”. Second workshop: Reshaping Made in Italy Fashion and Pilot Positioning. The third workshop, RHITA Platform Building Table – “3.0 Dialogic Platform”.

Reshaping Made in Italy (RHITA) IG social page launch

09.2024 • RHITA launches its social media profile on IG and begins to analyse and systematise some of the parameters to become a diffuse Living Lab spread across the national territory. Through continuous cooperation among all the Research Units, the widespread Living Lab aims to leverage the knowledge, processes, and infrastructures already active in the involved RUs. The project intends to identify application areas, designing stakeholder engagement strategies, financial sustainability, infrastructure sharing and their implementation, expected impacts, and scaling-up of activities.

RHITA at Prosperity Fashion

31.01.2025 • Different RHITA researchers, from IUAV Venice and UniCampania Vanvitelli, have participated in the International Conference curated by the Research Unit at the University of Florence. The areas of investigation of the Conference have concerned materials and fabrics, design strategies, education, technologies, geopolitics, manufacturing processes, economic and social models, codes of conduct, labelling and marking norms, sustainability, and trademark protection, as well as communication.

RHITA x Tavolo Bottom-Up at SID Conference Design Plurale, Naples

2025 • At the SID Annual Conference, the Research Unit of IUAV in Venice presented updates on RHITA. Preliminary results include mapping training institutions, consortia and industry associations; the production system; and the human capital of Italian fashion. Current activities involve implementing a series of pilot projects to identify action lines for sustainable, technologically advanced contemporary fashion. During this first year, RHITA has begun disseminating its findings by participating in international conferences.

RHITA partecipates at SID PNRR X Italian Design at Department of Design, Bovisa Campus, Politecnico di Milano

31.01.2025 • The RHITA project examines how the Italian fashion system is transforming by integrating sustainability, digital innovation and the promotion of cultural heritage. By adopting a Web 3.0 dialogue platform and establishing a regional Living Lab in Lombardy, Veneto, Tuscany and Campania, RHITA provides stakeholders with data, tools and potential partners to help SMEs transition to a green and tech-driven future.

Fashion Design Lab 2 x RHITA at the Design Cultures Department, IUAV University of Venice, Venice

2025 • The Fashion Design Lab 2 at IUAV University in Venice designed a fashion capsule collection consisting of clothing and accessories. Students were guided through the entire process, from conceptualisation to production, and encouraged to collaborate closely with leading Italian leather and fabric producers. Meetings were organised throughout the course with representatives from institutions such as Lineapelle and manufacturing companies, providing an opportunity to share knowledge about specific materials, production processes, and the local district context.

RHITA Fashion Catwalk and Exhibition at the Architecture and Design Department, University of Campania Vanvitelli, Aversa

2025 • The fashion show, born from a collaboration between Yamamay, PRISM and the Fashion Design Courses at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, represents an expression of a contemporary aesthetic language inspired by respect for the environment and experimentation with materials. Using Yamamay’s dead stock materials, the students were challenged to deconstruct garments and give them new life through innovative approaches and styles. The synergy between the company and the university creates new circular value chains.
